Bowen Care can offer various services based on your individual needs. With Margarethe’s friendly manner and extensive training, you’ll soon see results. Here are some of the solutions she can provide, suitable for a range of ailments from pain management to respiratory and even digestive issues:
Is your constant pain starting to affect your quality of life, and stopping you being as active as you’d like, or living a life free of pain? If traditional methods aren’t helping, have you considered Bowen Therapy?
Back pain is one of the main reasons why people consult a Bowen Therapist. Painful and restricted shoulders, neck pain, respiratory conditions and headaches: these are just a few of the conditions can be successfully treated using Bowen Therapy, and Bowen Care in particular. Margarethe is highly trained and qualified, and has years of experience implementing this gentle, non-invasive form of natural therapy.
Bowen Therapy is widely used for sports injuries and is one of the most versatile and effective therapeutic treatments. It offers significant relief for many injuries and means you can concentrate on the things that matter without pain affecting you. In your first session with Bowen Care, Margarethe will discuss your history, and devise an appropriate treatment plan. The therapy itself consists of gentle moves on the skin or through light clothing, with the client lying on a massage table. It is also possible to be treated seated. A session usually lasts for 45 minutes and frequently results in a deep sense of relaxation, helping the body to recharge and stimulate healing.
Because it is a complementary treatment it will enhance and complement other medical treatments. It is important to note, however, that receiving another manipulative therapy immediately following the Bowen session can undermine its effectiveness. Waiting another week before having any other treatment is advisable.
Bowen Therapy is a remedial, hands-on therapy that uses only very gentle pressure. Practitioners use fingers and thumbs on particular areas of the body, using a unique set of rolling-type moves which stimulate the muscles and soft tissue. No manipulation of hard tissue, or force is used, and the experience will be gentle, subtle and above all, relaxing. Clients report pain relief, improvement of function and recovery of energy.
Much of the time, it will only take 3 or 4 treatments here at Bowen Care (lasting up to an hour) for you to notice significant improvements. Of course, there are always exceptions, and others might require further or even ongoing treatment.
From muscular injury to skeletal issues, here are some of the conditions Bowen Therapy can help with:
- Acute and chronic pain management
- Neck and shoulder pain
- Hip and back problems
- Muscular injury/ skeletal & joint problems (elbows, knees, ankles)
Reflexology is an ancient healing art based on the principle of ‘reflex points’ on the body that correspond to every part of the body, inside and out.
A very gentle and effective treatment method for many ailments, Reflexology helps to ensure that all of the body systems are in balance. It can therefore help with respiratory problems, such as Asthma. Reflexology can also improve blood flow and help with digestive complaints, regulating the digestive system and the lymphatic function.
Reflex points can be found in the feet, hands, face and ears. These points respond to pressure, which stimulated the body’s own natural healing process. With a little bit of help from Margarethe, who is an expert at finding these exact points and knowing which areas they correspond to, the body can clear blockages, re-establish energy flow, and get back to better health.
Here are just a few of the conditions Margarethe can help combat using Reflexology:
- Blood flow - Reflexology is especially effective in bringing blood flow back into the feet of diabetic patients. Sores, common in diabetic feet, can heal and the foot will often return to a healthy pink colour thanks to increased blood flow.
- Respiratory conditions - Reflexology helps to calm and slow down the breathing, encouraging the client to breathe more deeply and increase oxygen uptake. This makes it ideal for Asthma sufferers.
- Stress - calming and relaxing, this technique has been used by numerous professionals to deeply relax patients and calm their stress and anxiety. It’s also effective at relaxing pregnant women.

When I started Bowen Therapy I had been suffering from migraines for years. They are now under control and only appear when I am run down.
I suffered from a frozen shoulder for 6 month and had to give up golf. After a series of treatments I am now back on the golf course again.
I had a very bad back one day and could not move. A number of Bowen treatments made the pain disappear, also a residual whiplash resolved itself as well.
For months I suffered from tennis elbow. After only a few Bowen Therapy treatments the pain has gone and not returned.
